CTIA WIRELESS 2006, a global event representing the complete wireless, mobile computing and wireless Internet industry, is gearing up for the largest international presence yet. Wireless technologies from more than 90 companies will be on display in the seven international pavilions representing Canada, China, Finland, Ireland, Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. CTIA WIRELESS takes place April 5-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

New keynote presenters this year are expected to bring an international flavor to the event Karim Khoja, CEO of Roshan Afghanistan, will share how this mobile operator is helping rebuild a nation and nurture economic prosperity by using wireless technology. Khoja’s keynote address on April 5 will address the challenges and business results seen over the past year.

The Global Carrier Roundtable on April 7 will bring together Sanjiv Ahuja, CEO of the UK’s Orange Group and Vassily Sidorov, CEO of Russia’s largest mobile operator, Mobile TeleSystems, with Sprint Nextel Chief Operating Officer Len Lauer and Cingular Wireless President and CEO Stan Sigman, to discuss the rapid growth and adoption of wireless across the globe.

“Our international attendance numbers are tracking well ahead of last year, and we expect more than 20 percent of our expected 40,000 attendees to come from outside the U.S.,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director of CTIA WIRELESS. “CTIA WIRELESS offers a distinct international focus with a solid mix of exhibitors, keynoters and conference programs providing attendees insight into not only mobile content and delivery but an analysis of key market issues facing the global wireless space.”
